Should we consider renting out gym time before Vegas?

I've talked to several community centers in Seattle (through Parks Dept.) to get information about availability and pricing to play some indoor hockey. The centers do allow us to play ball hockey. I also limited my search to bigger gyms (Greenlake's for example is too bloody small I think) and location. With winter basketball starting up, times are pretty much limited to Sunday mornings or nights. Reservations placed several days in advance (minimum) are highly recommended. Here's some info…

SEATTLE TSUNAMI LOGO / JERSEY DESIGN - V1

Ok boys, I was too excited about this initial design that I decided to post it rather than waiting to design a few more options. Basically, if you guys feel as good about this design as I do, I won't need to bother making up some more comps. So, have a look at the links below and post your comments. If it turns out that no one is happy, I'll go back to the drawing board... Enjoy! (hopefully!)

We need some serious boundary/barrier control!

My idea for building an effective, cheap, and simple barrier for keeping our ball in play is solidifying. I've bought some materials and am starting work. It should be pretty easy to store, transport (carry), and set up. I'll be utilizing the existing idea of snow/barrier fencing. No promises yet, as I need to build it first to see if it works. It'll be a few weeks out, but I'll definitely keep you posted. I hear others have ideas… Continue

Winter Classic 2008. . . Classic!

The Penguins down the Buffalo Sabres on Sidney Crosby's shootout winner in front of 71,217 fans in a memorable outdoor game to kick off 2008. Crosby also set up Colby Armstrong twenty-one seconds into the first period. Conklin (.973 SV%) and Miller (.960 SV%) rounded out the three stars of the game.

Kotalik scored on Buffalo's first shot of the shootout before Conklin closed the door. Pittsburgh's rookie defenseman Kris Letang tallied on a… Continue

Special Hockey Night in Canada this Thursday 12/27

Who's wants to grab a few pints with me at St. Andrews (or anywhere) Thursday night to watch a little HNIC?

Whoa there.

Due to lack of interest, I will not be going to St. Andrews to root for the habs and nucks.

12/22/07 Recap

Christmas was just around the corner-- cool, drizzly weather, last minute shopping, people out of town-- and things looked pretty dicey for some Saturday road hockey; however, after much finagling a solid turnout produced some competitive 4-on-4 games. Due to a lack of man-muscle (*cough* Schneuer, Kreptul *cough*) the gear could not be retrieved from the Payette compound leaving us short on game balls, sticks and yellow pinnies. The challenges couldn't derail a focused group of players that… Continue

Saturday 12/22 Street hockey, check out the new website look!

First off, big thanks to Werbicki for the new website design. Pretty slick!

We had an awesome turnout again last week. 5 on 5, plus subs plus 2 goalies!

I will be out of town the next 2 weekends so someone else will have to pick up the gear at my house. It's in my garage at 5831 Woodlawn. Kreptul, you hoarding half the gear? You better show up this week! BTW, anyone "borrowed" my brand new stick on the famous snow game? I need it back.

For the new SSH people, the…
