9/27 Game On!

Who's in? Who's in goal? Chupa or Andrews? The cold and wet is soon upon us. Don't forget - white and dark! WHITE AND DARK!

9/13 Game on!

More sunshine on the way this weekend! Guess who's goalie for some of the games? I am! A little advice: don't even bother with my glove side! Comment if you're in.

StarCrossed Cyclocross - Saturday 9/20 at Marymoor Park

If anyone wants to see local, national, and world-class cyclocross competition, check this out! Cyclocross is the original off-road race; very fast short course, repeated laps on pavement, dirt, grass, steep hills, and obstacles to navigate by dismounting the bike. It's $5 to watch, beer garden, blah blah blah. The canadiens had a lot of representation last year too. Lots of hot athletic chicks from all around the world. The races go into the night, with a lit up course!

It's… Continue

Who Wants to Help Me Move on Sunday 8/31?

Tasha and I are moving from West Seattle to Ballard at the end of the month! We're well-organized, we pack well (!), and won't have a lot of loose shit flopping all over the place that's hard to carry. We only have a few items that require two people to carry. We have a big-ass box truck to use all day too.

We'll provide food and drink for anyone who can help. More details to those who can make it. Loading would start late morning ~11, and hopefully finish unloading late afternoon… Continue

Saturday Hockey 8/9 - Who's In?

Even though Team Tsunami is on the road kicking ass in BC, the ball keeps rolling here in Seattle. Reply here to gauge turnout.

Saturday 7/12 Hockey - Margarita Class at Reiner's BBQ?

Game on! Let us know if you're playing this weekend. If current trend of low numbers continues, we'll play at church; not to mention we only have one set of 'boards' to work with. Should we even bother with the school while we only have one set of boards?

Getting Mrashed on Targaritas 101: Also, at Reiner's BBQ I might set up a booth to explore the ambitious and varied world of margarita making. Join me in comparing and contrasting recipes and varieties of tequila, orange… Continue

Eye Protection

Are we lucky or what? In general, I think we're pretty conscious of our level of intensity, our desire of competitive fun, and our goal of no injuries with a minimal amount of physical contact. I think our level of play and physicality has increased these last several months. It's been great. A black eye here. Some broken ribs there. That's the way it goes.

I was looking over some old photos of the Las Vegas tourney and saw Werbicki wearing a visor. It got me thinking: how many close… Continue

Who? How? How much? When? Will they look they same as last year's sweaters? Time is marching. Let's not get in a pickle like we did for Vegas. Comments please.

Rain on! 3/15 games recap

We had a wet one today. It seemed the darkest cloud hung over Greenwood Elementary while blue skies appeared to the north and south. Pond hockey no doubt!

I'm terrible at remembering the highlights of the day's game, so please post your comments if you have something to add.

Despite the wet we had some great games today. I'm really liking the four-on-four scenarios. It keeps the game open and allows for a lot easier and better movement. Today the play was excellent with a… Continue

Lost and Found - hockey sticks

Extra sticks I picked up from Vegas. Let me know if one is yours, otherwise I got dibs on the Easton , and the Koho is going to Blaget(sp?), the guy Cory calls Lars.

3/1 Street Hockey

Game on! I missed last week, but with a little practice these past few days, it's like there's been a laser on my blade that lights up my target! Goal! Goal! Goal! Netminders, get nervous! Leave comments if you're coming.

Benny and I are meeting early, about 12:30, to finish off the fencing, and make a few minor adjustments. We could use another body or two. Who can help? Donuts perhaps.

2/16 Street Hockey is on!

I'm done licking my wounds after Vegas. (Well, someone was licking my wounds...)

I NEED HELP SETTING UP OUR NEW FENCING! In order that we can start playing at 2, we need a little time to get oriented and set up. Is anyone willing/able to meet me at St. John's at 1:15-1:30? We'll carry/drive over the bales and get going! I'll be there! Please post comments!

Candid pics - cool or creepy?

At the risk of stealing Benny's thunder...

Ben did a simple search online for Seattle street hockey (in general) and found a picture of us playing on a Saturday. The picture was through flickr. So, I went to flickr to see what else was there. I found 6 pictures in total. They're pretty good. It's pretty cool, but do any of you remember the clandestine photographer a while back, hunkered down by the dumpster on the other side of the fence? Creepy-ish. These have to be by her. (Three…

Fencing materials - rope info

I overheard someone talking about needing a lot of nylon rope for a 'boards' project. FYI, here's what I've already researched:

Single (or solid) braided nylon - cheaper, and easily slides against itself, or hooks, etc. - this is probably what you want to buy.

Double-braided nylon - more expensive, looks like a 'typical' corded rope, great for sustaining shock loads - I don't think we need this.

Pricing if you buy a spool/reel of 1/4" (approx. cost/ft, not including…

Sunday 1/27 - small game anyone?

Anyone up for getting together today, for a little 2-on-2, or keep-away, or just to pass around for a little bit? Same time and place as Saturday, but for less time. Comment if you're in, or give me a buzz: 323-9344.

My shiner's WEAK!
