Are we lucky or what? In general, I think we're pretty conscious of our level of intensity, our desire of competitive fun, and our goal of no injuries with a minimal amount of physical contact. I think our level of play and physicality has increased these last several months. It's been great. A black eye here. Some broken ribs there. That's the way it goes.

I was looking over some old photos of the Las Vegas tourney and saw Werbicki wearing a visor. It got me thinking: how many close calls have there been with errant elbows or balls or blades? I'm not even worried about this. I got smacked in the mouth and I'm just starting to think that maybe wearing a mouthguard is a good idea.

If you're interested in eye protection, check out this website: www.bangerz.com

They have stuff for roller hockey, goggles and visors, but check out the field hockey stuff for some half-cages. I'll be calling them soon with questions including getting a team deal. I don't see much else out there. If anyone's interested in this, post here so I can gauge interest level. Keep in mind, that if we eventually want to have our own dedicated place to play in, whether we own it or rent it, we may be required to wear protective gear that we currently don't even think about.

Just keeping and eye out for y'all!

Wrap around sunglasses or clear cycling glasses best. Never thought I'd be the one get somone with a stick. Intensity up and you can't be aware of everyone. We do get our sticks up, its kinda just happened. We'd all shrug off a couple of stiches. A half inch off and for an eye. F$!@k Get some $5 7-11 glasses.

I agree with Peto. Keep it clean, have fun, take some shots in the nuts from time to time. We're playing street hockey, not practicing for the NHL.

Adam, I'm not sure how I feel about you aiming for my crotch...now that I know about your pink skin-tight apparel and picnic-basket on your bike.

Peto, that seems to be a theme with you. I like it.

Keep your sticks down, minimize stupid stuff and be prepared for the odd bit of pain... the rest is noise. No need to overthink.

I'm interested in the HS-7900 Sports Sunglasses. I wonder if there is a group buy price for them.

Never admit you have a cup. Crotch shots are coming your way!

When I first started playing, I tried wearing racquetball goggles. Tight-fitting and not too intrusive to vision. I gave them up because they were too much of a distraction. Speaking of protection, how many people wear cups? I do.
