where are we supposed to park?? This is a tiny lot.
I can't tell from your map but this is the official place: http://www.lasvegasrollerhockey.com/MAPDIRECTION.html
The star on this map is the driveway entrance, to a run down shopping plaza. The rink is way at the back on the right as you pull into the driveway.
I just called Southwest and spoke to an agent to clarify what their website says. According to the agent, hockey sticks are allowed as one of your checked bags, AND they recommend you package them in a case and wrap them to protect them. They are NOT subjected to the overSIZED limits of 62 inches, but are subjected to the overWEIGHT limit of 50lbs. I plan on putting 4 sticks in a ski bag, with my shin guards around the shaft and hockey glove on the blades for protection. If they try to charge you, I'd raise a huge stink. Here's the links:
Hockey and Lacrosse sticks will be accepted as checked baggage but will count toward the free baggage allowance.

I think you can get away with quite a few, but here's the official rule for Alaska & SWA:
"Each bag must weigh 50 pounds or less and have a maximum dimension of 62 linear inches (length + height + width) to avoid additional charges."
Yo! I definitely want to send my 2 sticks with someone else's. Ovi, if you'll be at street hockey this weekend (2/19), I'll leave them in your care. Otherwise...I'll figure a way to get them to you.
To anyone, check how many sticks can be bundled together to be counted as one piece of baggage - I believe a few airlines have limits on this idea.
Hey Rainer
because we are on Southwest, sticks count as one bag and we can take 2 bags free. With that said, anyone that want me to take some of your sticks, I am more than happy to.
that is a good draw--
late enough to sleep off the previous night's bender,
and early enough to be tsauced before the tsunami game.
