7/5/2008 Game - you in?

Good turnout last week given the heat and car show traffic. Played skins and shirts. Scott showed up for half hour of set up and 10 mins of play. That's dedication!

I've got no plans this 4th weekend. Anybody else want to play Saturday? Say so in the comments so we can gauge turnout.

Happy belated Canada day!

Where's Marshy?

Tons of rumors circulating but apparently he's back in Marquette, MI just in time for the skeeter season. Dude, if you're still reading this website, the US team needs ya on the first line. With no firepower up front, we'll have to mercy their ass all day. Think NJ-Tsunami, first blood in Vegas. What happened to you anyway? Ran out of bail money? Skipping out on a warrant? Anybody else want to speculate?

Battle of Washington recap/pictures

First off, I want to thank the guys in Washington for coming up to our fair city and play. I hope this is a beginning of a friendly WA rivalry.

To the best of my recollections (many beers consumed since), we played 3 games against Olympia and the score was tight (especially in game 2 where the final score was 5-4) but ultimately Seattle Street Hockey prevailed. We counted 15 people on the bench on our side at some point! We just had too many weapons. With a full bench Olympia side,… Continue

5/31 first ever Battle of Washington!

This is a historic for ssh. We're hosting a traveling team for the first time this week. Our neighbor from the state capital in Olympia are paying us a visit in the first ever street hockey Battle of Washington. Bring your game face, this game will mark the beginning of the US equivalent of the famous Battle of Alberta.

Please RSVP here so we can gauge turnout. As of now, 11 people are… Continue

5/3 Game, May game, 1:30 game start

Vic made his first start in net last week and he was impressive! Our performance up front was not as much.

First game in May and weather is looking perfect for hockey. We need to stay sharp before the Battle of Washington at the end of the month.

Early Habs playoff game this week again so let's get this show on the road at 1:30pm.

4/26 Game, 2nd round playoffs, 1:30 game start

Good hard games last week. Peto had to field an errand ball complain from the police. As usual, he didn't add much value.

Playoff games on the telly start at 4pm so let's get a 1:30 start again this week.

4/19 Game, Winter is back, 1:30 game start

Almost 80F last week and now this mess? Rain is supposed to stop at 1pm on Saturday...

Let's try for a 1:30pm start time time this week. Should leave enough time before the Habs - Boston game at 4pm.

Game on!

4/12 Spring Hockey + playoffs + Bring color and black!

Good tight hockey last week. Benny is out for a couple weeks with broken ribs courtesy of an (accidental) elbow by Peto. Get better soon buddy. Saliba also played with semi healed broken ribs! Jeez, you'd think we're playin 70's style Flyers hockey!

Spring in Seattle starts Sat with 70F+ weather. Dust off that stick and get yer ass to Greenwood Elementary. We'll need help to set up so plan on arriving ~1:45pm. Bring colors and white (or reversible jersey) so we can mix the teams up.… Continue

4/5 Street hockey - should be dry

Sorry, couldn't make it last week. Foot of fresh in the mtns could not be ignored.

I'm back to play this week and plan to resume the win streak.

Only a couple more NHL games before playoffs begin. Pens and Habs are dead even at 102pts with 1 game left. Cigar malt still in play...

Forecast says we should stay dry until… Continue

3/29 - Rain hockey - Game on

You wouldn't know it's spring by looking outside today. Playoffs just around the corner and Habs are where they belong - Ahead of the pens and sens... Can't wait for the the cup tourney to start.

Oh yeah, rain, shmain, we're playing anyway on Saturday. 2pm, Greenwood elementary. Bring dark and white jersey or one of those nifty reversible Seattle tsunami jerseys. Beers to follow. Add your comments if you plan on joining.

3/15 Game on!

After a couple weeks of 90F+ lazy ass on the beach, can't wait to get back to the Greenwood Elementary Coliseum for a couple games of cold, wet, street hockey! See ya all at the game or for beers after at St.Andrews.

2/23 Game on + bring $$$ for boards

First time (for me) playing with the new boards last week and I gotta say it's a whole new game! No chasing around, board passes, etc, looks almost legit!

Many of us had the spiffy new tsunami black - white reversible jerseys at the game and it makes changing team way slicker than passing around the nasty yellow pinnies. Just flip your jersey and yer done.

Drop a line to Gary Rededekop if you want one… Continue

2/1 Street hockey - Game on!

I can't make it this week so someone will have to get the gear from my garage (5831 Woodlawn Ave). Benny is supposedly unveiling the brand spanking new boards this week! Show up a couple hours before the game to help him and Adam set it up for the first time!

1/26 Game on - stick/equipment service discontinued

After years of soaking my lezbaru with hockey smell and narrowly avoiding divorce when I brought 2 duffel bags full of nasty soggy gear in the basement to dry last week, I'm calling it quits on carrying/storing the gear. You all have your own stick nowadays anyway and goalies are bringing their own gears so it doesn't seem necessary anymore.

Great turnout last week. Let's have the same in better weather this week.

Meet you all at 2pm on Saturday at Greenwood elementary or…

2pm at Greenwood Elementary. Reply in the comments if you're in.

One of these days, we'll fix those fences...
