Stanley Cup Finals rooftop viewing party - Friday, June 13
Thanks to Koh for coming up with the suggestion (aka strong-arming me into doing this. just kidding Koh.)
Assuming that the Kings don't sweep the Ranger in the cup final, I'll be hosting a viewing party for Game 5 (Friday, June 13, 5 p.m. PT) at my apartment building in Wallingford with views of Downtown Seattle and the Space Needle. The preliminary plan, also assuming that weather cooperates, will be to bring the TV out on the rooftop, BBQ some food and watch the Rangers & Kings do battle while wishing that your favourite team was playing.
Before moving full steam ahead, I wanted to get a head count of how many people would be able to make it. I think that we can safely fit 25-30 people (maybe even more although not everyone will have a perfect view of the TV.) If weather doesn't cooperate then as a backup I have reserved the media room to watch there.
For food I'm thinking that if others can bring some alcohol and snacks (chips, dessert), I can provide burgers, hotdogs, buns, condiments, plates, cups, cutlery, napkins, etc. If Dave has any leftover drinks or food from the CanAm BBQ those would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has a large cooler for the drinks that would be helpful too.
Once we get a headcount, I'll provide those attending with the address and other details.

Looks like we'll have a game 5 but the chance of rain is 70%. Throws a kink in the plans but we still have a massive TV and surround sound to watch it on. I guess we can grill on the roof and just bring food down to the media room.

The Rangers are going to have to bring it tomorrow if there's any chance of a game 5. There is also a chance of rain for Friday so we'll have to play this one by ear. If there is rain and no game 5 then I must just call this off.

That's an awesome birthday - same as Steffi Graf. I'm still waiting to hear if she's inviting me to her party, but she's forgotten 36 straight times :-/
