New Idea? Black Ice Ball Hockey Rink Board System

Hi Everyone,

After talking to a some you about past dasher board experiments and how they fizzled out... The common theme for not using them were; storage space, bulk and set up. I did some research and found this system sold at Canadian Tire stores. Canadian Tire sells these for $129 Canadian which equals about the same US. I can get them for $70 US from the dealer S+H included!

If enough of us think it's a good idea to buy. We can have our own individual set to store (see pic), then bring it with us whenever we can show up. Link them together and GAME ON!

I will commit to buy at least two sets for myself and front the $ on American Express for whoever else is willing to order. Each set gives 10' of coverage. If enough people are in we can cover a lot of space opposite the fence line and/or behind the goals.

Respond ASAP if you think this is a good idea and want to order or if you think this is a bad idea.

This looks pretty slick, but if we need to put together 15-20 of these each week it could still be a bit of a chore. I like the idea, would like to see one and how easy it is to set up and how solid they are. Trial a prototype before going whole hog? I'd be in for a couple.

Nice! How many would we need?

Maybe set up, but two out of three issues solved isn't bad :). Each person who paid would keep their own backpack size kit(s) eliminating the storage issue. Some days would have more people with kits show then others. How ever it goes there are a lot of holes to fill at the playground. I think I will buy a few kits 1) to really see how feasable it is 2) to get buy in (or out) from the players who are present 3) stall for time to keep the good deal. Keep the comments coming though!

I like the fresh thinking. This is a good one. But it still sort of leaves us with a storage and set up issue. Does it not?

Bryan, this seems like a cool idea. I know a bunch of folks are out of town and/or awol basking in the sun for the next few more weeks, but as fall sets in things will be getting back in SSH-swing and this is a great conversation to be had. So don't take a lack of comments at present as lack of desire to look into this...I think people might just be vacationing. p.s. can we hire that litte skinny kid in the picture to come play goal for us?
