Can you pledge time or $?? July 12 matching grant application for community rink!

The Seattle Dept of Neighborhoods has a matching grant program (http://www.seattle.gov/neighborhoods/nmf/smallandsimple.htm)
that could help fund the outdoor rink application that Adam put
together and submitted on SSH's behalf to the vacant lots competition.
This is critical, because the group behind the vacant lots competition
does not provide the actual money for paving, fencing, etc.!

The grant application is due July 12. To win it, we need to demonstrate
that we can raise the resources - money, labor, and/or in-kind donations
- that they would then match to build the rink.

WHAT I NEED FROM YOU: I will compile a list of SSH members (and anyone else!) who is
willing to give to the project, if we get the space and the matching
grant. PLEASE email me (kmlcortes@gmail.com) or post to the comments
(for yourself only, please) if you are willing to give 3 hours of work
and/or $50 - or another amount, just let me know. I will add this all up
and put a value on it. If you're willing to do this much, please step
up now and say so, and help the project move forward.

In case you haven't followed Adam's posts closely, I'm attaching the original
application and the feasibility question responses that he submitted
(with help from some others). The first page of the question responses
lays out the costs, most significantly paving. If we want a rink, we
need to get that funded.

ALSO: save the date of July 20 - we can use to have as many supporters as possible come out, if they have us present in an open forum. The time window they gave us is 4-7pm, location TBA. I will post again about that once I have further detail, but if you want to be involved, let me know.

Thanks!
Katherine

great idea to build a permanent location for a Ball Hockey rink. I wish I was down there to pitch in...
suggestion: checkout the outdoor rink system here: http://swerink.se/ it's what we are using in Vancouver...and the great thing about this system is that it breaks down and pops up easily, it's portable and can be transported to any location indoors or outdoors. just an idea, let me know if you need any more info about it...(BTW, i don't sell these systems, so this is not a sales pitch, just a friendly suggestion)

BC from PDX Ball Hockey checking in. Perhaps I can take up a collection amongst our group. Can't commit to an amount, but I'll try. Have you contacted others in the street/hockey community (LA, SF) or contacted the American Street Hockey Institute (second link)? Perhaps they can assist.
