Bainbridge Sat Aug 27th....it's ON!

We've done this trip a few times now, and it's been so successful, people we nagging me every week about when we'd do it again.  Well, the time is now.  Saturday, Aug 27th, we're moving the game to Bainbridge Island to Battle Point Park.  Last time we were there (even though only about 10 responded), we had over 35 people come out.  While that may seem like too many, with the bigger rink and more running, I didn't hear anyone complaining.

This year it sounds like there's some interest from the Bainbridge Island Rollerhockey crew in joining us for some street hockey, plus this year we'll play some roller hockey after street hockey if enough people are interested.  Probably street 1-4ish and roller after that.  So throw your blades in the car!

We've got a permit for the rink, so no surprises there.  Plus, the Bainbridge Island Rollerhockey folks have very generously allowed us to use their nets, so we don't have to drag ours over.  If you've not been there before, there is a restroom nearby and a water fountain at your rink (if you're too lazy to bring your own).  It's a GREAT place for families and kids if you want to bring the whole crew.

DETAILS:

Ferry

Ferry leaves from the Seattle waterfront. You need to be driving NORTH on Alaska Way to get into the ferry terminal (you cannot turn right off of Alaska Way into the terminal while traveling south...at least you're not supposed to). We want to catch the 11:25 ferry to Bainbridge Island. So plan on BUYING your ferry ticket at 10:45. If you get there much later, the ferry may be full, and you'll have to wait for the 12:20. Once on the boat, let's meet in the galley....that's where they sell the booze.

Directions and Parking

Easy. Get off the ferry and follow the flow of traffic straight on Rt 305. Drive 3 miles and turn L on Koura Road.  Drive about a mile on Koura Road (to it's very end).  Take a Left onto Miller Rd NE and a relatively quick right onto NE Arrow Point Drive.  Check out the google map for more detail.

Park at the first park entrance you see. If that lot is full, drive around the park and enter the other lot on Battle Point Drive (there is a tiny parking lot on Frey road, but it's far far from the rink).

Carpooling

if you're interested in carpooling, post it in your response.  I'll let y'all work it out amongst yourselves.

We'll see you on Saturday.

I'm in, so we have at least one goalie. I'll have The Commish send out a message to everyone in case people haven't seen the post.  See you at the ferry tomorrow - if anyone is in the Capital Hill area and wants a ride, let me know.

Jeff can you pick me up as well? I'll pay for gas.

sure Sam.  I sent you a message to get your address.

I can fit a few more.  Might as well hop on that 11:25 and be ready to play on foot or blade.

Well we could play inline earlier then. I'm fine either way.

Jeff -- Want to grab me in Fremont? I'm literally one block north of Steve.

I can drive.  with my skates (and a bit of other equipment), I could probably fit three more.

should we go later if we're only playing inline after 4p?

If it's only just the 4 of us maybe we should just play inline. You guys interested in carpooling?

I have the goalie gear now. I will meet everyone at the park on Sat morning. I wont be able to car pool, spending the night on the other side of the water

I guess the four of us can play the bainbridge boys.

I'll bring my skates, too.
