Battle Of The Desert Recap - Seattle prevailed

Last weekend, Peto, Kevin, Koh, Dan, Chuck, Billy and I represented Seattle against Tucson's Pima Street Hockey League in the first Battle of the Desert. Their side was represented by Bob, Weston, Jennifer, David, Will, Blake and Stephanie in net (I'm probably missing a couple).

First, I gotta say Tucson has an ideal court for street hockey. About 120'X60' smooth concrete playing surface complete with boards! I need to get Seattle to build us one of those.

The game started pretty even. Their half court offside rule threw Peto's game off, (shocking I know), Saliba got his calf branded by Will's slapshot bom and we traded a couple goals. In the second period, Seattle then put the game in the superior gear. Chuck got out of his funk from a poor showing in the afternoon golf game, Peto started to hit the net and Dan stayed solid in net. We stopped keeping score.

After games beer were had at the indescribable Meet Rack where we met the self proclaimed God. Makes the old Ed's Kortaus is tame in comparison.

Fun weekend. Koh added to his legend. Let's plan to do this again soon. Sin city tournament on 2/9-2/10 anyone?

Here's a couple pics (notice the awesome chicken wire nets)
