Guys- quick note re:lines for Vegas. We'll have 5 d, 3 wing pairs and 2 rotating centers. Visually, looks like this:
Goalie
Dan
Defense
Tyler
Andrei
Graeme
Ovi
Me
Left Center Right
Kevin Deuce Peto
Scott Cory Adam
Rainer Chuck
On defense, it's a rotating system, tired legs out, fresh legs in, no left or right D assignment, you play the position of the guy who just hopped off.
On offense, wing pairs stick with your line mate. First period Deuce/Cory play center, second period switch with Chuck/Rainer and Cory/Deuce play on the 3rd line.
Lots of space on the rink in Vegas. Ball is faster than the man, think tape to tape pass (except you Peto, shoot from all angles)
Quick review on the rules (http://www.socalstreethockey.com/2011_Sin_City_Shootout_-_Rules_and...)
High stick = penalty, don't be lazy, play the high ball with your hand.
Floating blue line offside : once you cross the offensive zone blue line, the red line now becomes the designated off sides line. On D, if the ball skips over your stick and you can't hold the red line, dump it in deep to allow time for your forwards to tag up.
Icing : After crossing the defensive zone blue line, you can dump it in with no icing. As you all know, the Vegas ball is super bouncy and hard to control so we might resort to ugly dump and chase hockey to win.
Our first game is Friday 7pm against Oceanside (Qualicum Beach, BC). We all know how the strength of Canadian sides so we'll have to come out hard!
I'll be holding a "strategy meeting" on Thursday night. Flight lands at 10:30pm so it will be a late start...
See you all in Vegas!

Rainer, I'm interested in car pooling too.
Speaking of which, is the car rental situation all taken care of?
Rainer
I will talk to you tomorrow about car pool.
Anyone heading to the airport thurs. night Pool? Gregg. From downtown or.
I can take a couple more sticks. Like Steven packing in a bag with my shin guards etc. but putting a bottle in the soft care of my shin guards as well. Make use of that protection. :)

Special thanks to Cam Green ($200), Ovi, Josh, Koh, Erik. New nets are nice! If you play often and have not chipped in yet, now is the time to feel guilty and do your part!
