"Steve,   I ran a weekly outdoor pickup game in the parking lot of Erie Community College that was sort of like SSH, but the lot didn't have much in the way of walls, so every missed shot or errant pass led to a break in play. We…"

"It's not timed.  We play until the first team gets to 5 goals and then we swap ends.   We stay on the same team until one team wins 2 games (best of 3).  Then we throw sticks in the middle and do it all again."

Just some quick questions

Hey guys, I'm really looking forward to coming out and meeting everyone. There were just a few things I was wondering about before my first game, if somebody doesn't mind me asking. Is passing a big part of the play style? The last place I played, the surface was kind of bad and the ball bounced a lot. Because of this, guys had their heads down a lot, and between that and the way the surface made the ball go in unpredictable ways, we didn't do a lot of passing. Lots of shoot and swarm. How many…See More

Hey Brad, I haven't met you yet, but I'm another one of the Buffalo guys that regularly plays (though it hasn't been too regularly lately).  As you may know, SSH heads to a floor hockey tournament every Feb in Vegas, and this year some SSH guys are going to LA for a change of pace.  As there are 4 Buffalo guys (now 5 with you) that play, I had always thought that a street hockey trip to Buffalo would be a lot of fun.  I had emailed some folks at American Indoor SH in Buff, but never heard back.  I wasn't sure what type of street hockey you were running in Buffalo, but thought you might be a good resource.  I'm going to Buffalo Nov 11th and was going to stop by some indoor street hockey places to talk to some organizers, but maybe you'd be just as helpful.  Let me know if there's any annual street hockey tourneys we could play in that you know of etc.  20 SSH guys in Buffalo would be a blast!  Cheers.
