Hey guys, I'm really looking forward to coming out and meeting everyone. There were just a few things I was wondering about before my first game, if somebody doesn't mind me asking.

Is passing a big part of the play style? The last place I played, the surface was kind of bad and the ball bounced a lot. Because of this, guys had their heads down a lot, and between that and the way the surface made the ball go in unpredictable ways, we didn't do a lot of passing. Lots of shoot and swarm.

How many guys do you usually get? Do you play 5-on-5? Are there line changes or substitutions? Do people ever get turned away because they are too many?

What's the typical age range?

How much contact is there? Don't worry - I'll play any style you want, from no contact at all to Thunderdome. Just trying to figure out what I'm in for.

Anything else I should know (get there early, bring spare balls, etc.)?

Yo, tek-nik-ly I'm as hard as steel.

I'm impressed Laing, not as many lies as usual.

Kevin, will you let everyone know that I won't be there this weekend?

It's not timed.  We play until the first team gets to 5 goals and then we swap ends.   We stay on the same team until one team wins 2 games (best of 3).  Then we throw sticks in the middle and do it all again.

Q: Is passing a big part of the play style?

A: Everyone plays differently.  The surface doesn't hinder or support any one style of play unless its raining.

Q: How many guys do you usually get?

A: Some weeks we get a handful, other weeks there's 10 subs on each team.

Q: Do you play 5-on-5?

A: Usually, unless there's not enough people

Q: Are there line changes or substitutions?

A: Subs.

Q: Do people ever get turned away because they are too many?

A: Not during our regular weekly games.  The annual Canada vs USA game is a bit different.

Q: What's the typical age range?

A: Youngest is ~20, oldest is 50+

Q: How much contact is there?

A: Little to no contact.  No checking, play the ball first.  Obviously there will be some incidental contact in scrimages in front of the net, in the corners, etc.

Q: Anything else I should know?

A: 1) Bring a dark AND a white shirt - do not bring a grey shirt to pass off as one or the other.  2) Do not get on Bubbles' bad side.  You'll know him when you see him.

Oh yeah - do you play timed games or up to a certain score? What time are you usually done?
