NO GAME THIS SATURDAY - at least at Salmon Bay ** UPDATE, all good

hey ballers -

I'm working with Salmon Bay in terms of extending the 'goodwill' offer about us continuing play at the school, but I've been informed this week that we're no longer allowed to use the surface until our permit is in place. I'm still working on getting liability insurance for the org - and of course we can't even apply for a permit until that gets signed - so I'm hoping that I can find some contingency plan that will work for the school.

Regardless of how you personally feel about this whole thing - please remember that according to the school board, seattle parks and rec et al, the school has absolute authority to ban us from playing there. So please don't piss the school or the community off by showing up and playing until we can clear this up. If you do so, you risk us losing the space permanently, and could possibly affect us finding another suitable place to play in the parks system.

If any of you have contacts with insurance or lawyers and would like to try to expedite this process, please let me know.

thanks for the patience,

rob

Hi Rob,

I wanted to follow up after we talked today. I have talked to our Building Rentals and principal Neil. The instructions I have from the district are that the playground can not be used again until there is a permit that has been approved. We need to make sure the school district is protected  and there is proper permissions in place. You mentioned that you have not been able to get insurance and that is what is holding you up. There may be insurance you can get from the district for a fee. Eleanor Lockett would be your point of contact about that. Here is the contact information for Eleanor 206 252-0640.  Her email is elockett@seattleschools.org

Please let your group know that things are cancelled at Salmon Bay until this is resolved. Please let me know if you have any questions.

We should consider collecting the nets and keeping them with us until this gets ironed out. Who has a pickup truck that can grab them?
