I'd love to come out and play...but I have a few questions...

Where is a good place to pick up some gear?

What positions are usually needed?

thanks!

I am amassing the extra gear, but I don't have a full set yet.  I currently have pads, blocker, catch glove, chest protector, elbow pads.  There was a helmet but it was in really poor condition.  I mailed my old goalie helmet to myself when I was home for Easter - it should be here any day.  So I still need a stick and hockey/goalie pants.

I think we're short a goalie next Saturday if someone wants to step in...

Josh--do you have the extra gear?

I'm pretty sure they usually do.

thanks for the info!  I'd like to be one of the goalies too...does Play it Again have goalie gear?

Good place(s) to pick up gear:

  • Play it Again Sports  19509 Highway 99 in Lynnwood
  • Big 5 in Ballard carries a small collection of sticks/pads/gloves/etc.  Not a great selection, but good in a pinch
  • Sports Authority at North Gate has cheap Reebok sticks with ABS blades

As for positions we tend to just cycle through positions.  When you are in the queue to play, you just replace the next player to come off of the ice.  Some people that prefer to play defense or forward will sometimes ask to switch with someone while on the court.  We usually have 2 goalies, and they tend to chime in on the message board on Friday to let us know which ones are going to show up.
