Hey all,

How beginner-friendly is this? I want to get into ball-hockey but I'm a far below average player so I wouldn't want to let my team down too much if it's quite competitive.

Thanks!

Depends on your measure of average. If you're below average for an Edmonton ball hockey league then you might do just fine at SSH.

Btw, the person below you who just posted about borrowing a stick?

Played her 1st ever hockey game last week, and she's back for more! :P

Actually, I'll offer a different perspective:

I've never played hockey before, but I watch NHL games and I've always wanted to try.

Hopped in for a game last year, and now I feel like I can at least hang with the best of this group.

As long as you're willing to hustle and learn, you can definitely make it! :)

Thanks man. I'll try somewhere else then. :)

To be honest, most people who play regularly have a background in organized hockey--it's probably not the best place if it's your first time playing. If you've played before, come by to watch and see if you fit the level of play.
