Hey I'm super new to this sport. Do I need to bring my own stick, and if so, recommendations on expensive ones to start on and where to buy?

You guys are awesome.  I will for sure check out those options and make sure I get my own for next week, and ditto for friend.

I can also bring a spare stick tomorrow - heads-up that it's for shooting left.

You can also get pretty cheap sticks here! https://www.hockeymonkey.com/equipment/hockey-sticks-shafts-blades....

I took a cursory look, and there's a Bauer i200 that's available for <$20!

Ray,

If you have a spare stick I could borrow just for tomorrow, that would be awesome! And this might be asking a lot, but I have a friend who decided she wants to join me.  is there anyone else who might be able to bring an extra stick? If not, I can try and find time to get to Lynnwood before the game, but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks!

I got an extra stick I can bring if you would like.  For an inexpensive stick, the Bauer i300 is one that a bunch of people here use and I sometimes use as well.  You can get it for $30 at Play It Again sports in Lynnwood.  It comes full length, so you might have to saw it down to your size and tape the end of it.  They also have a bunch of used sticks for $10 as well.
