I moved out from the east coast a few years and recently got inspired to try and find a group to play pickup hockey with. Do you play with a ball or a puck? Are there usually 2 goalies out for games? How long do you normally play on Saturdays?
I'm very much looking forward to knock the dust off the stick and skates and get out to a game this weekend.

Thanks for filling me in guys! Do you think anyone would be interested in getting some games together on skates? I saw a rink under I-5 in the green lake area just off of 65th near Ravenna.
No hitting, no fighting. There is incidental contact (it is hockey, afterall) and some guys who know each other well enough will put a shoulder into fighting for the ball in the corner, but any dirty stuff results in essentially not being welcome back.
The style of play is very casual - no skating, however. We pretty much just run. Most people wear a mouth piece and a cup, but we're all friends. Play gets pretty intense, so just be ready to work!
We play pretty arcadey hockey, no refs - simple rules. All games to 5, and best of 3 series. We normally play 2-3 series each saturday.
