I just received this email from the Silvertips:



TIME TO GET YOUR GAME ON!

Get in on the action, Rob!
You may have played hockey on ice, at school, and on basketball courts, but now it's time to take it to the streets. The inaugural Everett Silvertips Street Hockey Tournament is coming to downtown Everett on SATURDAY, JULY 17th.

We're excited to take a look at all of the hockey talent in the area. Represent your neighborhood, school, or work by forming a team and taking on challengers from all around Silvertip Country! The tournament will be divided into separate age groups, and adults are encouraged to join! The day-long tournament will take place adjacent to Comcast Arena in the parking lots at the corners of Broadway & Wall and Hewitt & Lombard.

Special prizes and signed memorabilia will be awarded to the winning teams, while the Everett Herald will provide coverage and results of the weekend's events.

Each team will be comprised of four to six players participating in 4-on-4 gameplay. The Silvertips will provide the nets, boards, and officials. Teams are responsible for providing their own sticks and approved goalie equipment.

The competition will feature a round robin-style schedule, culminating in a single-elimination tournament. Teams will be placed in the following age groups: 9-12, 13-17, and 18+. To ensure good competition and a manageable schedule, we will place a cap on the number of teams in each age group.

Registration costs $100 per team if paid by Sunday, June 27th. On Monday, June 28th, the price will increase to $120 per team, so register sooner rather than later!

All participants receive a free ticket to the Silvertips' home opener!

Yo! Even if no one from SSH plays in the tourney, it might be interesting and valuable to check it out - meeting the organizers, sponsors, etc. Think "long term future of SSH".
I'm interested in going just to watch and rub the proverbial elbow. Anyone else? Email me.
