okay i spoke with greg schneuer and he asked me to make a post regarding the team USA roster. keep in mind, i'm not in charge here but merely getting the ball rolling. i spoke with a lot of folks on saturday and asked them to look for this post and please respond so we can judge interest and availability of players. olympia boys will have to hang tight for now and see how many people in seattle are coming.

a quick overview of the basic framework as it stands now:

either:

(I)

3 forward lines
3 defense
2 goalies

back-up goalie plays out in manner to be determined

-or-

(II)

4 forward lines - 11 players (+ backup goalie)
3 defense
2 goalies

obviously this means some people who want to play could be left off the team. while this is unfortunate, there is a growing sentiment among a number of players that they would like this once-a-year event to be competitive (insert muffled canadian laughter and snickers here). maybe this is an off-shoot of the positive experiences many have had at the tournaments (vancouver aside, ouch).

some of this already has been discussed and ron did a great job of laying the groundwork for this process.

how the roster is finally decided upon is unknown at this point so if you are interested please respond to this post so you will have the opportunity . . .

I'm pretty new, but would still like to be considered for the can-am game.
my defensive game hasn't been so good lately, so left wing?

I like option II. We have enough players that can go hard so having four forward lines would be my choice, depending on who we get committed. I'll br there Saturday and we can Rap about the upcoming event at bleachers.
