New here... Played all kinds of hockey, and always looking for any games I can get in, given my work schedule. Do you all regularly get goalies? Been a goalie my whole time playing hockey... Hoping to pick up some street appropriate gear this Friday, so I wouldn't ruin my ice/inline pads. I know the players don't wear skates, but do you have objections to goalies wearing skates for mobility and protection?

Can anyone bring the extra set of goalie gear? As I won't use my ice/inline pads on concrete, and as Steven commented, if I can use some of the extra pads, then I won't have to buy a whole net set of everything just for street hockey. I called play it again sports, and they have lots of ice/inline goalie gear, but do not have gear specifically for street hockey. So I'd likely have to buy a used set of ice pads, which even at play it again, it going to cost a bit.
No... I am a originally Canadian, but I only have an American passport. I'm going to check out play it again sports today and see what they have in the way of cheap goalie pads that I don't mind getting tore up on concrete. How many people usually show?
Sweet. I love goalies. Damian, any chance you carry a Canadian passport?
Yeah... that would be nice if I could use a set of goalie gear (especially leg pads) that is more conducive for street hockey, or at least a pair that no one minds using on concrete. Does Rob usually bring the pads?
PS- I'm IN for the game on 6/1, but me playing in net would just be silly.
Welcome Damian. We have two 'starting' goalies and one or two substitutes when the starters are absent. Usually it goes like this:
1) Someone posts to this website, like you did, giving the date of the game, rallying the troops to come out and play etc.
2) The goalies reply to that post saying they're in or out.
3) If no goalies reply, goal is open for whoever shows up at game time and wants to play in goal.
Hey there, Damian. Welcome to the group! We have a set of extra goalie gear - I am guessing you're most concerned about your leg pads? I'm sure you could do a mix of your existing equipment and our loaner equipment without having to buy a bunch of new gear. The loaner gear is typically kept at Rob Sorensen's house, which is nearby Adams.
As far as skates go, I doubt there would be much concern as long as you're competent enough that you're not going to kick someone in the face while flailing for a save or something :-) Given the choice, we'd much rather have a goalie with skates rather than no goalie at all.
