Greetings to the Greater Ball Hockey Community,

I’d like to take a moment to invite you (teams/players) to the 2009 Tampa Bay Shootout Street Hockey Tournament to be hosted on the weekend of October 23rd – 25th in Tampa Bay, FL. The Sunshine Shootout is an annual event that brings teams from across North America together for a top quality ball hockey event at one of the prime vacation destinations in the United States. With top tier ball hockey in four competitive divisions( OPEN,REC.,WOMENS,& MASTERS), warm weather, white sandy beaches, casino action, theme parks, golf and so much more…......well, the Tampba Bay Shootout Street Hockey Tournament has quickly become one of the most anticipated events of the year.

Dates: October 23-25, 2009

Divisions: Open , Masters,Womens and Rec.

Capacity: 28 total teams for the weekend.

Cost: $650 per team.

In an effort to bring the best experience possible to our participants, we have also secured discounted rates at host hotels and at one of the more popular pubs/restaurants in the area, Each located mere minutes away from the event. Based on the success of the event in the past, the increased level of interest we have received thus far, and the diversity of the divisions this year, we are expecting to hit capacity quickly en route to our most exciting and competitively balanced event to date.

Unfortunately, space is limited and, as such, participation is on a first come, first serve basis. Teams looking to participate in the 2009 TampaBay Shootout can reserve a spot in the event by submitting a $150 deposit (U.S. currency) via check or money order to:

Matthew Garry
17846 Machair Ln.
Land O Lakes, FL 34638

Deposits can also be made via credit (contact me for details).

Both teams and individual players are welcome. For teams/players interested in further information about the event, please feel free to contact me directly (contact information below).

Another event - this is an email from Terry Cox today, for those interested:

Greetings All,

Thanks to a few friends, and based upon our success with the Sin City Shootout, the L.A. Kings Fan Development Team reached out for assistance with organizing/hosting a street hockey tournament as part of their first annual Kings Hockey Fest. Intent was to promote the sport on a grassroots level........what better way than to focus on street hockey, right?

Anyway, this will be a bit sketchy this first time out as hosting an event is all new to them. This will be a 1-day event (August 29th, though the Hockey Fest will be open from the 28th - 30th). Expecting two divisions of 6-teams each (Open and Rec). Format will be similar to the Sin City Shootout due to time restraints (you'll see the "rules and overview" is the same as what we've used in Vegas for a few years). Expecting two rinks............they are trying to have rinks w/ sport court build in an area that will draw attention to the event, but that will depend upon the cost........we may be stuck with Border Patrol boards for the event? We'll see.

If all goes well, they will be making this a staple of their annual Hockey Fest for years to come. Even better, they are asking me to pick a date between October and April to host a West Coast Street Hockey Championship at the Toyota Center (practice facility) as a thank you for my efforts, and in an attempt to help build-up our sport.

I realize some of you would probably not be interested in coming all the way down here for a 1-day event, but I thought I'd throw it out to you...........I also wanted to prepare you for the distinct possibility of the first-ever West Coast Street Hockey Championships.........I'm thinking sometime in March? I'll keep ya posted as things develop on this end.

If you have any questions or interest in the August event, please let me know.

Hope all is well!

TC
