Just received this updated email. Changed to April 9th to 11th!!!
================================================================================
Greetings All,
I was contacted late yesterday afternoon by L.A. Kings' staff with a request that the dates of the event be changed from April 2-3, 2010 to April 9-11, 2010 due to scheduling conflicts.
Rink availability for the event will be as follows:
Friday: 12:00pm - 8:30pm
Saturday: 7:00am - 11:00am (Kings' game at 1:00pm)
Sunday: 7:00am - 4:30pm
We will utilize as much of the available time as needed depending upon the total number of teams involved.
The Kings' game will be their last regular season home game, and they are hoping to kick it off with a bang (closing ball hockey tournament as part of the festivities of closing out the regular season). As previously stated, we are working on a few bells and whistles to make the event that much more special. More to be released as details get finalized.
FYI.......friends and family are welcome at the game with pre-order tickets. Please contact me with any/all questions you may have regarding the event.
Regards,
Terry

Just received this email. April 2nd and 3rd - a little late to notify us. Oh well! Any interest?
================================================================================
Greetings All,
I just wanted to touch base with you all to announce the expansion of the "Shootout Street Hockey Tournament Series" with the 1st Annual West Coast Shootout Street Hockey Championships to be held on April 2nd-3rd (Fri-Sat).
We realize that this is short notice for most, and that the weekend chosen is Easter weekend, but it has taken us awhile to finalize details with our biggest sponsor/partner for the event....the L.A. Kings.
Attached is a copy of the flyer put together for the event by L.A. Kings' staff.
Cost for the event will be $650 per team of 10 + goalie (or less), with teams able to expand rosters to a maximum of 17 at the cost of $20 per additional player.
Divisions: We will be hosting an Open and a Rec Division. Given the short notice, we are expecting the Open Division of this first-time event to be similar to the Sin City "C" Division or Open Division at the Hockey Fest last August. Rec Division will be similar to that hosted at the Hockey Fest event.
Event cost will cover a minimum of 4 tournament games plus a ticket per paying participant for the Kings v. Ducks game at Staples Center on the evening of April 3rd. Team trophies and individual awards for 1st and second place in each division. MVP/MVG to receive awards in each division. Video footage of the event is expected to be aired during the Kings' game (promotion of our sport), with winning teams to be recognized during the game. The L.A. Kings Fan Development staff is working on a few more bells and whistles for the event as we speak........more to come on that.
The event will be hosted at the Toyota Sports Center, right around the corner from LAX. This is the Kings' practice facility, which has one covered rink with a sport court surface.
With a little help from our friends up north, we are in the process of revamping the rules for the Shootout Tournament Series, including the implementation of the floating blue line for off-sides for future Shootout events.
This is the first of a number of event announcements that we will be making throughout the year with the expansion of the Shootout Tournament Series. We are currently working on a second Las Vegas event with the Kings, and are hoping to have the pieces in place for 2 more events this calendar year.
Since 2001, SoCal Street Hockey has been steadfast in its commitment to our sport through the hosting of league play, sponsoring of tournament teams, involvement and sponsorship of the 1st Women's US National Team, involvement and sponsorship of the 1st California-based women's travel team (California Quakes), the hosting of tournament play (i.e. Sin City), and in helping others establish and/or promote events/leagues throughout the States. Our goals have been simple.......to promote the sport of ball hockey (focus on the West Coast), and try to take care of those who share our passion for the sport. The West Coast Shootout is our next step in helping to promote and expand the sport of ball hockey on the West Coast. We hope you'll join us in our efforts to bring the sport of ball hockey to the masses!!
Please note that all teams and individual players interested in the event are welcome. For more information regarding West Coast Shootout, please contact me either via email (tcox32@aol.com) or phone at 562-233-8969.
Warmest regards,
Terry
