Hey SSHers,

I did a little research and found the outdoor rink in Bainbridge that had been mentioned. It is at Battle Point Park. Here's the Google Map. Zoom in and you can see the outdoor rink in the center of the park.

The Bainbridge Island Roller Hockey League uses it pretty fully through the end of July, but then it's open. You can actually rent it for $20/hr or $114/day if we wanted to ensure it would be available to us when we wanted it. It is 7.5 miles from the Ferry Terminal, so we'd obviously not walk on the boat, but we could probably arrange a carpool pretty easily. Any thoughts on an 'away' game in Aug/September?

I was on that side of the state this weekend and checked out the place. Just a quick rundown...
1) Asphalt court
2) Boards are nice. The "glass" is sort of the same stuff as the orange backstops we have/had. Problem is, it is probably 7-8 feet high, so there could be quite a few shots to fetch.
3) Seemed to be about regulation size. Although, I thought it looked close to the length we play at now - but it could just be the sight lines.
4) Pretty easy to get to off the ferry.
I took some pictures and will try and post them later.

My buddies and I are ice hockey players. Most of us haven't played street hockey since we were kids. If you guys pick a date and want me to put together a team, Im sure I could get enough players. It sounds fun so just say the word.

I want to play them just so we can have a headline that says:

"Tsunami hits Bainbridge"

Nice, I'd go for Sept, lots of people out of town in Aug. Would be cool to play a Bainbridge team.

Yep. Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure they sell beer and wine on the ferry too.
